What a Mess

Thanks to various decisions by our elected officials, many of which seem to suffer from the inability to think logically about things, we have some messy situations in our country.

Reverse discrimination, otherwise known as affirmative action, is one of them.  George Will wrote today about a case in New Haven, CT, where when only white firemen passed the promotion test, the city decided to invalidate all the test scores, claiming that was the only way the outcome could be considered "race neutral," whatever that bit of newspeak is supposed to mean.  In some respects, we're farther from what Dr. King wanted in his famous speech now than when he gave it.
