Inauguration Day is not a holiday, no matter what some left-wingers say, including a Baltimore City school teacher who notes that her students are pretty excited about Obama's swearing in. She obviously forgets that when the chance to get out of school is being whispered about, students will get excited about the dullest things imaginable. Since when do kids get off school for Inauguration Day? Only in a world where the people running the schools see that they can use the swearing in ceremony for propaganda purposes.
Okay, so now that my right-wing nutjob radio host moment has passed, I just want to say that Obama's speech and the so-called prayers associated with his swearing in were rather negative. He commented on how now that he's in office, America can pick herself up and move forward, repair herself and her people, and end the divisive problems she faces. Divisive, maybe, but only because there is a left wing out there that revels in its close-mindedness, open only to the people who agree with it. The left is not open to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness (take a look at its abortion policy, anti-gun record, desire to tax the average man into oblivion, and absolute inability to allow people to pursue happiness and excel — it'd rather we all be equally miserable). The hypocritical left has no desire to, as they always preach, reach across the aisle. When was the last compromise on, say, gay rights, you ever saw spearheaded by a liberal? Search all you want; you won't find it.
Why does America need to pick herself up and move forward? From what? I don't know about President Obama's America (although from his associations, so brilliantly highlighted by talk radio and the blogosphere during the campaign, yet willfully ignored by the mainstream media and your average college student drive-by voter, I think I know a lot about him, and it's not good), but mine isn't full of people that think America needs to somehow pull her face out of the mud or that she's somehow a step behind. My America is worried that we'll be there in eight years when the natural family is almost extinct, babies are legally killed as part of the morally and physically revolting practice known as partial-birth abortion, and after a paycheck, a working man has only 30% of his income while the slacker down the road who hasn't held a job in years has 30% of the first guy's income, too. By the way, the slacker will most likely be an illegal alien on the fast track to citizenship in a country vulnerable like never before to terrorist attacks. We worry about those things, but we don't despair. My America is strong, resilient, and knows her place. Yeah, there's some economic uncertainty right now. Who in their life doesn't experience uncertainty? Deal with it correctly, and you come out stronger. Resilient — conservatives know that people make mistakes, but they know people can bounce back. That fits right into knowing one's place. People (and countries) of principle understand the difference between right and wrong. Unlike the left, which so fears looking bad, it has tried to eliminate the difference, people of principle stick by their principles (even when they don't live up to those principles because the principles are still right no matter how wrong one's behavior). America has always had principles, and given proper leadership, it still can. My America stands for freedom, opportunity, and a better way. To those proverbial huddled masses, it still does.
What is there to be repaired? Obama is worried about the world's opinion and thinks an artificial problem called the income gap creates endless social strife. What needs to repaired is a system that has institutionalized irresponsibility, racism, victimhood, a lack of respect for others, and wanton egoism. Let the world rush by us on its whims of fancy; America will pass the world, it's engine overheated, tires blown out on the side of the highway, if it will stick to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, unencumbered by the stifling laws, meddling, and absolute lack of common sense that the Pilgrims and the Patriots paid for so dearly many years ago and that the world's strongest and best military pays for so dearly today as they protect our freedoms and extend them to others who often set the example for us in how to properly appreciate those privileges.
I don't share Obama's vision. His is one tainted by despair. I am not a victim, nor do I know any. Myself and the people around me are hopeful, but only because we realize America is a land where we have freedoms and opportunities like no other. We see America as a bright spot, a rather stationary one at that, in a world of shifting, relative values and no direction. My America knows the direction and is supported by those who understand that what makes America great is her dedication to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
May God bless America!

I agree with you on this post. The more I hear about Pres Obama, the more he reminds me of a Communist leader. His words, promises and actions bring to mind the words, promises and actions of a few twentieth century leaders. His cult of personality reminds me of other former leaders (not good leaders).
